Exceptions to Confidentiality (Safeguarding)
There are a few rare, specific circumstances where I am legally or ethically required to break our confidentiality agreement. I will always try to discuss this with you first if it is safe to do so. These exceptions are:

- Child protection: If you share information that indicates a child or vulnerable adult is experiencing or at risk of abuse or neglect.
- Legal requirements: If I am ordered by a court of law to disclose information, or if you share information regarding acts of terrorism, money laundering, or drug trafficking.
How I Handle Your Data
- Storage: Any contact details or brief session notes are kept securely in encrypted, password-protected digital files.
- Retention: I only keep your data for as long as required by my professional insurance and BACP guidelines, after which it is securely destroyed.
- Your Rights: You have the right to request a copy of the information I hold about you at any time.
